New York Fashion Week (NYFW) has finally wrapped. There are various trends at NYFW backstage that are a must see at the Vivienne Tam SS 2017 show. Fashion Week is usually about beauty and fashion, but who knew that even tech can be so geek chic! Red Door Salon & Spa and Makiko Nara styled the models’ hair backstage with Olivia Garden Hair Tools and created a natural nail look using CND and Essie products.

Renowned fashion photographer, Nigel Barker used his new Moto Z Force Droid Edition and Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod. Nigel was backstage and also sat front row at the Vivienne Tam SS 2017 show on Monday, June 12, 2016. He took photos with a special Moto Mod that delivers 10x optical zoom. This mobile camera by Hasselblad (a prominent Swedish manufacturer of top quality cameras used during the Apollo program) literally snaps off and on the Moto Z Force like a magnet. Per Nigel Barker, a great camera, quality and precision are very important to him. He wants to be able to pull out his phone and a professional camera simultaneously. Per Red Door Salon’s National Style Education Director Tim Wandrey, the style they’re focusing on is chic, feminine, relaxed and soft. Renowned celeb hair stylist, Makiko Nara worked her magic by creating a unique twist to the topknot to compliment the soft style of Vivienne Tam’s Spring Summer 2017 collection. She loosely pulled the hair into ladylike chignons situated at the crown of each model’s head for a chic, relaxed style. This look is loved by all — it’s casual, feminine, romantic, sexy and resonates with men and women.

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to create the hair look.

1. First, apply Kérastase L’incroyable Blowdry into the palm of hands and apply on towel dried hair from roots to ends. For thinner hair, apply Kérastase Matérialiste to add texture and thickness to hair.
2. Then, brush hair with Olivia Garden’s iDetangle Brush a new ultra-gentle detangling brush with double-bristle design.
3. Next, blow dry hair naturally using the Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Supreme Combo Oval Cushioned Paddle Brush to lift up the roots to create volume.
4. Then, pull the hair upward and tight leaving a few pieces down around the hairline and neck.
5. Next, make a small knot with a hair tie, wrap around the knot with the half of the hair and the leave the end free. Secure hair in place with bobby pins.
6. Finish, by texturizing the hair, left around the neck and hairline with Kérastase V.I.P to complete the look.

The nail look by Red Door Salon & Spa’s Iwona Opiola  using Essie’s Demure Vixen, is a natural nail to compliment the soft textures of Vivienne Tam’s collection.

Follow the steps below to recreate the look yourself.

1. File nails into a rounded shape, and apply CND Cuticle Away.
2. Lightly buff the nails, then gently remove any loose cuticle.
3. Dehydrate the nail plates with acetone, which prevents polish from chipping.
4. Apply 2 coats of Essie’s Demure Vixen polish.
5. Apply Essie’s Good2Go Top Coat to add a bit of texture to the polish without it looking dry.
6. For dry cuticles, apply CND Solar Oil for added hydration.
