CEW Foundation’s Beauty of Giving honored Cosmetics Entrepreneur Laura Geller.
Beauty of giving is priceless. It is indeed, skin deep and more people should explore it. The Cosmetic Executive Women Foundation (CEWF) honored Laura Geller, founder of a $100 Million dollar cosmetics firm Laura Geller New York, at its annual Beauty of Giving Luncheon a couple of months ago. Ms. Geller was honored for her generosity and commitment to Cancer and Careers. The event celebrated the philanthropic achievements of the beauty industry and all proceeds benefitted CEW’s signature charity, Cancer and Careers, a national non-profit which empowers and educates working people with cancer.
Ms. Geller is a very successful beauty entrepreneur and can retire at any time. But she continues to work and also finds time to focus on her personal dedication to Cancer and Careers, which spans the last decade. She has served as a CEWF Board Member, ambassador, program supporter, event sponsor and cause marketing partner. She has inspired a company-wide commitment to the cause at Laura Geller New York, which has donated more than $500,000 to date. In addition, the company has donated $600,000 worth of products to the CEW & QVC Present Beauty with Benefits broadcasts, where Laura’s on-air presence has helped raise millions for working people with cancer.
Geller did not go to college and managed to start her career as a makeup artist working on Broadway and with New York celebrities. She created her own beauty line and launched it on QVC 20 years ago next Spring. Her Spackle® collection of primers and Baked cosmetics have been best-selling favorites for over a dozen years. If Laura Geller can create a $100 Million beauty company without a college degree, and still finds time to help people with cancer, then that is a beautiful thing — which is invaluable and skin deep.
