INSPIRATION: “Ms. Cox asked the team to bring edge to this Emmy Awards red carpet. So when I conceptualized this look I wanted to give old school Hollywood an exciting, modern redo. My inspiration for the look came from the classic film The Women. Although it’s not quite “Jungle Red,” I think you can get the feeling of the silver screen’s glamour and class.”

GET THE LOOK: “To create Laverne Cox’s Primetime Emmys Makeup I began by prepping the skin with It Cosmetics, Secret Sauce and Anti-Aging Armour. Next, I applied the Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment generously to the mouth. As the skin absorbed the perfectly hydrating products, I commenced with creating the edgy eye look that would be the focus of this makeup. I started by basing the eyelid with the Superhero Eye Foundation from the Superhero Eye Transforming Anti-Aging Super Palette. Next I rimmed the waterline with No-Tug Waterproof Anti-Aging Gel Eyeliner in Black. I blended Superhero and Superstar shadows to create the perfect metallic shade, which I swept across the entire eyelid and into the crease. I then created a modern Smokey shape by using the No-Tug Waterproof Anti-Aging Gel Eyeliner to Define the inner and outer crease of the eyelid. Before the eyeliner dried I used the Heavenly Luxe No-Tug Dual Eyeshadow Brush #5 to soften and diffuse the creamy pencil, while being mindful to leave negative space in the center of the crease. To finish this bold eye I defined the upper lash line with Superhero Liner and coated top and bottom lashes generously with Superhero Mascara.

I started with eye make up, so I was able to clean away any excess fallout from shadow and liner before perfecting the skin with Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ and Bye Bye Pores Poreless Finish Airbrush Powder. For the extra touch of Hollywood glamour I swept Confidence in Your Glow across the top of the cheekbones, down the center of the nose and on the chin using the Heavenly Luxe Mega Fan Brush #9.

To finish the look, I created a warm nude pout using Your Lips But Better All-Day Waterproof Lip Liner Stain in Spicy Nude, and Blurred Lines Smooth-Fill Lipstick in Perfect Nude.

INSPIRATION:  “For Chrissy, the focus of her look was a sexy blue green smokey eye, that paired beautifully with her dress. We wanted her natural beauty to shine through, so the skin was clean with a touch of pink on her cheeks, a very subtle contour and a touch of soft pink on her lips that would not take away from the dramatic look on the eye.”

GET THE LOOK:  To start Chrissy’s look for the Emmy’s, Motoko prepped her skin with Secret Sauce Moisturizer and then applied Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ to even out and perfect her complexion. To create a more dewy look, Motoko mixed a bit of Secret Sauce into the Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ and then Perfect Lighting Radiant Touch Magic Wand in Radiant Neutral was used to conceal and brighten around her eyes.

For the eyes, Motoko used the Sunrise shade in the Naturally Pretty Matte Luxe Transforming Eyeshadow Palette to contour the eye and the Bold shade from the Superhero Eye Transforming Anti-Aging Super Palette for a bold blue on the lower lid and then lined her eye with No-Tug Waterproof Anti-Aging Gel Eyeliner in Lucky Jade. Superhero Mascara was used to coat her lashes. For her cheeks Motoko used the Bye Bye Pores Blush in Je Ne Sais Quoi and the Sunshine in a Compact Matte Bronzer for a subtle contour.

And lastly, Motoko used Your Lips But Better All-Day Waterproof Lip Liner Stain in Pretty in Pink for a soft pink that would not detract from her dramatic eye.
