This special facial essence is SK-II’s iconic bestseller and signature product. Often referred to as “miracle water,” this moisturizing essence is made up of more than 90% PITERA™ — a bio-ingredient containing more than 50 micro-nutrients — to soften and smooth skin, minimize the appearance of pores and wrinkles, even skin tone, and enhance radiance.
Chinese New Year in 2018 is on February 16th. SK-II is excited to introduce their new Lunar New Year Limited Edition Facial Treatment Essence! For the first time, the iconic Facial Treatment Essence bottle is featured completely in red — a color that symbolizes good fortune, luck and joy. The Limited Edition design celebrates the commitment to writing one’s own destiny in a chic and contemporary showcase of traditional Chinese calligraphy. The new SK-II Lunar New Year Limited Edition Facial Treatment Essence retails for $229, and is available at SK-II.com and SK-II retailers nationwide in late January through March.
SK-II is a beauty must-have at New York Fashion Week (“NYFW“) which runs from February 8th to 14th. Makeup Artist Gucci Westman relied on SK-II for backstage beauty at NYFW Mansur Gavriel show with her all-time-favorite, the iconic Facial Treatment Essence. Gucci took inspiration from a 60’s photo of Candice Bergen that Mansur Gavriel’s Floriana Gavriel and Rachel Mansur liked, and created a more current version of the beauty look.
Since Floriana and Rachel prefer makeup that is there, but not noticeable, Gucci created a beauty look to match the collection. “They are very minimal when it comes to makeup and foundation, they really just want to see beautiful skin,” Gucci stated. “The look I created was all about prepping the skin and minimal makeup. You look sort of enhanced…a better version of yourself.” Here’s how to achieve the NYFW beauty look.
SK-II FACIAL TREATMENT ESSENCE: To prep models’ skin, SK-II Facial Treatment Essence was poured onto a cotton pad and gently massaged into the skin to instantly refresh and moisturize skin. The brand’s signature product is formulated with over 90% pure PiteraTM, which promotes the skin’s natural surface rejuvenation process, balances the moisture barrier for overall hydration and elasticity, and instantly refreshes skin for an even, radiant complexion. Skin absorbs the Essence almost on contact, making it the perfect product prior to make-up application.
“I started with SK-II Facial Treatment Essence because I wanted to give the skin a luminous finish without using highlighter,” stated Gucci. “I didn’t want it to feel cosmetic, and the essence is truly a miracle water that really offers instant hydration for the skin.”
To finish the skin, Gucci used concealer only where absolutely necessary and a tiny bit of blush to add some warmth to the cheeks.
Gucci updated Candice Bergen’s 60’s look by creating a greyish peach color for the light shadow on the top lid. “I used a matte grey and a matte peach, which comes across as a lighter tone,” Gucci shared. “You can’t really define the color.” Next, she rimmed the top lid with a really thin black line that just hugged the lashes, which were lightly coated with black mascara. Then a tiny bit of brown liner rimmed the bottom lashes and a few freckles were added. Gucci finished the look by enhancing some of the girls’ lips, adding a lip-liner to match their own color.
“This look is nice because it’s how real girls look,” Gucci gushed. “We’re showcasing each girls’ natural beauty and their own individual style. It’s making the girls look like they’re friends with each other but not the same clone.”
