By starting with a good pillow!
A pillow is pivotal for treating a stiff back and neck, and it’s especially necessary for a good night’s sleep. I’m constantly on my computer at work, on my wireless devices during my commute and at home. As a result, my achy neck and back need lots of TLC. They prevent me from getting an adequate amount of beauty sleep.
One rule to good quality sleep and overall well-being is a great pillow. Look for a pillow that supports yuor neck and upper back. This is pivotal, because our spine is curved; thus, giving the support your head and neck needs will maintain the proper alignment of the spine. Sleeping without right pillow will keep you up all night and result in a stiff back and neck.
I recently discovered a great pillow by Sleep Number. My hubby and I are both obsessed with their Comfort Fit Pillows, because they are so incredibly soft and luxurious. It’s made of a special blend of memory foam pieces and premium down alternative fibers. It compliments the shape of my neck, head and recovers its shape every time. It boasts of a breathable cover that’s so comforting and soothing, even after I put it in the washing machine (on gentle cycle). My hubby is a stomach and back sleeper, so these pillows are ideal for him. The inserts are removable, which enables me to customize my support and height that I need for my beauty sleep.
For those who travel often for work, vacation and/or weekend getaways, be Sleep Number has travel pillows too! Holidays are right around the corner, so I plan to gift one to each of my parents when they visit me this year.
This fall, I’m determined to re-decorate my bedroom so I can come home to a relaxing and zen sanctuary, after a long stressful day at work. Check out my story about how to decorate your room by Bobby Berk, and tips on how to get the best night’s sleep by Dr. Eva Van Cauter here.
