Target has it all: beauty and health products, clothes, shoes, electronics, movies, toys, pets, furniture, books, all the school supplies a student can ask for and many, many more — all at affordable prices! Every child in my family is a huge fan of Target, or “Tar Jay” as my kids refer to the family retailer. There’s a “je ne sais quoi” about Target that makes this store such a guilty pleasure to go to. It’s like that of a fun-filled family trip that my friends and their kids all get so excited about go to on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Even toddlers can recognize the bulls eye logo (that looks like a yummy peppermint candy) from afar, which is very helpful when the designated driver is trying to find where Target store is!

Target College Stylist Katherine Elizabeth’s personal style is earthy and eclectic. The 23 years old lives in New Jersey, attended Brookdale Community College and started her own YouTube Channel three years ago to share her ideas that can be found here. Below are some of Katherine’s helpful back to school decorating advice.
- Maximize space — It’s no secret that college dorm rooms are a tight squeeze, so making the most of the little space you have is important. Dual purpose items are a must! Check out the Room Essentials sheet set with side storage pocket, which are exclusive to Target and are the perfect solution to hold all of the items you want to keep close, like phone, books, glasses and alarm clock available in a variety of colors.
- Add Seating — Students love to hang out in their rooms between study sessions, so having an extra chair on hand helps make your room more welcoming to guests. Target has these cozy Room Essentials Sherpa Chairs that Katherine loves. They fold up and can be tucked away when you need extra space. You can even add a colorful throw blanket and pillow to make it a more permanent part of your dorm room.
- Be You — The most important tip Katherine wants to share with students is to be true to your style. There are so many great products at Target that can be functional and personal. Choose products that do both. You’re going to be living, sleeping and studying here for a year, so make your space comfortable and feel like home. DIY hacks are a great way to bring your personality into a space. Target’s college campaign this year is all about finding ways to inspire students as they design their dorm rooms –check out Katherine’s here.
